TREASURE
Bred by Fred Knop
Marx 06 x Howards Mother (one of Fred’s best females)
Lead sire for 2009
-
This ram brings a
great deal of excitement to our program. This ram is interesting
both from the phenotypic and genotypic standpoint. His mother is
arguably one of Fred’s best females to date and his daddy has
more than proven himself creating winners on all levels of
competition, including champion at the American Royal a few
years ago. Mel Marx utilized this guy the past two breeding
seasons producing some of his best sheep in years. When you
begin to analyze this guy he is dead set level hipped, wide and
flat in his pin set, extremely long in his hind saddle, loaded
with meat, really extended in his length of body and neck, high
and clean in his chest floor, and stands on a flawless feet and
legs. Needless to say we are very impressed with this ram and
feel he will produce some outstanding lambs for 2009. We bred
him to an elite group of females for 09 lambs, this will be a
crop you won’t want to miss.

Fields 65 X Fields 66
Bred By Bob Fields
-
This ram has
truly stood the test of time and keeps generating winner after
winner, his lambs have impress several of the top club lamb
breeders across the country, we have had more interest on this
ram because of his offspring than any ram we have ever used. I
could tell you about how great he is and what he can produce but
in all honesty you really just need to come see his babies for
yourself, you will be impressed. Pictured here at 7 ½ years old
he still looks great, this picture taken after running with a
group of 50 females for 2 months.

High Beam /
RRNN
(High Hill Farms) (I-Beam X Ballistic)
Bred by Jerry Hensler.
-
This ram was used
heavy as buck lamb last year and boy did he click. He worked on
nearly every female we gave him. He added length of body, muscle
mass, and an impressive look to his offspring. We put him with
25 females for 2009 and planned to breed most of our keeper ewe
lambs to him in September but unfortunately we lost this ram at
the beginning of September. You will want to see his last lamb
crop this coming spring.

Dozer / RRNN
(Remedy (Shroyer) X Trailboss (Johnson))
-
Aquired trough a
bred ewe. This ram did a great job for us this past year, his
offspring sold quick and were several of our high sellers. He
adds a tremendous amount of muscle especially in the lower
portion of his leg, his babies have machines for hind saddles.
He is as massive as any ram in his rack and is one that
progressively gets wider down his top. He was used on a select
group of females for 2009 babies. Those who have seen this ram
in person have been impressed. Those who have raised lambs out
of him have found their spot in the winners circle.

MAX
Bred by Kasler Suffolks
-
Here is a really
interesting ram from a genotypic as well as phenotypic stand
point; he dips into the Marx genetics from the 90’s as much as
any ram we have ever used.
Now when you analize him you will see one super long bodied, big
racked, thick butted, heavy boned, and super balanced sheep.
When I seen him at Sedalia this past summer I knew he was coming
home with us. He seen use on 35 ewes, the most ever given to a
buck lamb in one season at our farm.

DIAMOND
Bred by Hays Brothers
-
Here is steal of
Sedalia with his pen mate bringing over $12,000 many over looked
this young march ram lamb. He was a ¾ brother to his penmate the
only difference in pedigree was a Derby daughter two generation
back. The great thing about this young ram has been how he has
developed since coming home from Sedalia. Since he has arrive
home he has added more mass every day, maintained the same
impressive pattern, and is maturing into a great buck. Because
of his age we took it easy on him early, breeding him to only 12
mature ewes, but after loosing High Beam we turned him out with
a large group of our replacement ewe lambs. We expect great
group of hamp and hamp cross lambs out of this guy. Be sure to
check his babies out in the spring.

Steel
Spaz X Blue Crush X 385
-
Here is what we
feel is our best keeper buck from this lamb crop. After loosing
his sire last fall, we were looking to find a replacement for
him. This ram is as massive as any we have put together,
moderate framed, square and level hipped, monster topped, great
expression of rack, clean fronted, and eye appeal to spare. This
buck lamb is really cool in his design and very balanced in his
lines. You need to see him to appreciate how good he really is.
Blue Steel is a march buck and we turned him out with a group of
replacement ewe lambs in September, look for his babies in mid
to late February and March.

LJ
–Dorset
Bred by GT Dorsets
L-3 X 405 twin sister (Martin Genetics)
-
This ram was
impressive when he was purchased and he did not disappoint in
his first lamb crop, every one of his wether (ram) lambs was shown at state fair and
placed extremely well. All of his daughters were retained in the
flock, it is for this reason that after this breeding season he
will be for sale. I will have nearly 25 dorset females by next
spring and all but 9 are his daughters so I will be looking for
a different ram to use on his daughters and to be perfectly
honest to keep a ram of this caliber around for 9 females is a
waste of his genetics, so if you like big topped, massive rumped,
level designed dorsets, that breed on please give a call.
